The country is currently plunged into a political and financial turmoil and has therefore temporarily suspended the progress of its major infrastructural projects; in some of them our law firm is being involved, namely on the privatization of all the regional airports and on the major project of the new airport in Kastelli in the island of Creta. However all major indications show that both projects will resume soon after the government issue will be into track.

Bern, Switzerland and Berlin, Germany

Finally the Rubik project is officially born. Following a long lasting reluctancy and hard negotiations the two countries have agreed on a lumpsum taxation of the undeclared German assets in Switzerland in return for the acknowledgement and the protection of the Swiss Banking secrecy keeping these accounts totally anonymous. Everything comes at a price so there comes a heavy tax for those who wish to maintain such status. Our law firm has followed the development of this negotiation.

At the European Court of Human Rights lies the world’s first ever challenging petition against the 53% haircut on the Greek Sovereign State bonds performed by the Greek State that also bears the agreement or the understanding of its lenders namely the Commission, the European central bank and the International Monetary Fund. This "mission impossible" has been proudly filed by our Law offices in conjunction with Italian International Law professor Andrea Saccucci. Our next step is now set on June 28, 2012 where our supportive documentation must be submitted to the Court. We now continue with additional claims challenging this unprecedent unilateral action on behalf of institutional clients and others.

In reacting to the confidence crisis in the banking sector, Credit Agricole has recently launched a new campaign aiming to a greater transparency where their account advisors receive no incentive whatsoever for proposing a specific financial product or investment.

Beijing, P.R. China

European pharmaceuticals seem to have discovered a vaste but also a difficult market for their innovative but also for the license free products. We are most pleased to have set a structure to help them as they are turning to our law offices for specialized legal assistance to enter into that market both in terms of products penetration and protection and of capital and management partnership. We count of course on the reliability and the country knowledge of our local and exclusive partners Lehman-Lee and Xu, currently China's third largest licenced Law firm where US-born Edward Lehman is a founding partner permanently established in this vast country.

Commission requests Greece to comply with EU rules on free movement of capital and the right of establishment

The European Commission has today acted to ensure that Greece complies with its obligations to implement EU rules on free movement of capital and the right of establishment (Articles 63 and 49 of the Treaty on the Functioning of the EU-TFEU). The non-compliance with EU law results from the application of a State measure, adopted in the context of Deutsche Telekom's (DT) participation in the Hellenic Telecommunication Organisation (OTE) and granting special rights (“golden share”) to the Greek State. The Commission's request to Greece takes the form of a reasoned opinion. If the national authorities do not reply satisfactorily within two months, the Commission may refer the matter to the Court of Justice of the European Union.
